Is there anything buzzier right now that Google Glass? It appears to be the next big-thing-that-will-rock-your-world according to most of the Technorati websites. I mean, how can it not be? This wearable technology device (ie. glasses) can connect with my smartphone via Wifi or BT and then magically do things like
- Voice search
- Initiate turn-by-turn driving, walking, or cycling directions
- Capture and share photos and videos through Google Plus
- Start a Google Hangout
- Accept phone calls
- Send texts
- Deliver search results, including the weather
- Hook into third-party apps
Wow, that’s AWESOME!! Or is it? Personally, I think SNL hit it right on the head with this video:

Firstly, apparently these early adopters and beta testers are all white males. Why is that? This blog really captures this phenomenon:
Then Valleywag has a great report about the Valley’s manic, schizophrenic reactions to the new technology.
And finally, this snarky blog gets downright mean about it. http://jesuschristsiliconvalley.tumblr.com/post/48596551224/nice-piece-of-glass
